RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UNLV men's and women's diving teams collected three program records and three event wins on Saturday's final day of the Riverside Diving Invitational at Riverside Aquatics Center.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Senior Dima Tereshchenko recorded a school record in the men's platform prelims with a score of 355.65. He topped the eight-year-old school record previously held by former Rebel Lucas James (348.80) since 2016.
- In the platform finals, Tereshchenko went on to earn the event victory (332.40) and sophomore Ronan Robinson placed second (284.40).
- Sophomore Alex Vazquez broke his own program record in the 1-meter event, diving to a score of 372.75 which landed him in first place.
- Additionally, Tereshchenko placed second in the 1-meter event (346.70).
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- On platform, senior Vika Yanovska dove to a school record during prelims (257.65).
- Adding to her impressive day, Yanovska won the 3-meter event with an overall score of 339.50. The score gave her the third-best mark in program history.
- In the platform finals, freshman Allyse Abbott earned a third-place finish with an overall score of 243.80, which is the second highest score in program history.
- Additionally, sophomore Chelsey Dorosh placed fourth in the platform competition (234.30).
- In another top-5 finish, Abbott collected a fourth-place score of 303.55 in the 3-meter event.
- Dorosh also collected a seventh-place finish in the 3-meter dive (261.55).
UP NEXT: The UNLV men's and women's swimming teams will return to action at their annual UNLV Invitational meet, which is set for Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 16-18.
