LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team lost to UNR 69-66 at the Thomas & Mack Center Saturday night, ending its five-game win streak.
The Runnin' Rebels (14-10, 7-5) were led by Dedan Thomas Jr.'s game-high-tying 19 points and game-high eight assists, while turning the ball over just once. Keylan Boone added 15 points and Rob Whaley Jr. contributed 11.
Nick Davidson led UNR (20-6, 7-5) with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Jarod Lucas scored 18 points and Kenan Blackshear had 12 points and nine rebounds.
STAT OF THE GAME: UNR shot 63.2% from the field (12 of 19) in the second half.
WOLF PACK RUN: UNLV led by nine points with five minutes left but a 10-0 UNR run gave the Wolf Pack their first lead of the game since late in the first half.
CHANCES AT THE END: UNLV trailed by a point with 20 seconds to play, but Thomas Jr. missed two free throws. Lucas made two on the other end to give UNR a three-point lead with 16 seconds left. Thomas Jr. made a layup to cut it to one again and after two more Lucas free throws with nine seconds to go,
Keylan Boone's 3-point attempt to tie the game fell short.

- The loss also snapped a four-game win streak by UNLV over UNR and marked the first loss to the Wolf Pack in
Kevin Kruger's head coaching career (4-1).
- UNR out-rebounded UNLV 41-20.
- Thomas Jr. was 6 of 11 from the field, including 1 of 1 from the 3-point line, and made 6 of 8 free throws.
- UNLV forced 17 UNR turnovers, seven of which were committed by Blackshear.
- UNLV, which turned the ball over just three times in the first half, finished with 10 for the game.
- UNLV held UNR to just 33.3% from the field (9 of 27) in the first half and took a 36-28 lead at the break.
- UNLV held the lead for 30:11 of the game, which had 12 lead changes and five ties.
- UNLV continues to be without
Jalen Hill, who is out of the rest of the season (ACL).
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,217 straight games.
NEXT FOR THE RUNNIN' REBELS: UNLV will head back out on the road next week and play at Air Force on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The 9 p.m. MT/8 p.m. PT game will be televised nationally on FS1.
