LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's swimming and diving senior Blanka Bokros has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
A Budapest, Hungary native, Bokros became the first women's swimmer in program history to three-peat as the individual Mountain West champion in the 200 fly. She broke the MW conference, MW championship meet and school record for the second straight year in the event. at the meet with a time of 1:55.16.
Bokros also claimed the conference title in the 100 fly for the second straight year, marking the second consecutive season she swept the 100 and 200 fly titles at the league's championship event. Additionally, she is the first Rebel to go back-to-back in the 100 fly since All-American Katelyne Herrington.
