LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team downed Weber State 4-1 to kick off its home dual-match schedule on a blustery Friday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
After the match, which was postponed to late in the day after morning rains, the Rebels improved to 1-2 while the Wildcats fell to 1-2.
 
UNLV opened by taking the doubles point with victories on the top two courts. Zita Kovacs and Hanna Vinahradava won 6-4 at the top spot while Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao prevailed 6-2 at No. 2.
 
In singles play, got straight-set victories from Vinahradava on court four and Hu on four three to take a 3-0 lead and then, after WSU got its lone win, Coco Zhao closed it out with a three-set, come-from-behind triumph on court five.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Hanna Vinahradava won at the top of the lineup in doubles and was the first off the courts in singles to set the tone for the home team.
 
QUOTABLE: "It was nice to finally play at home and today was a solid win for our program. Weber State is a good team but we competed well on the big points."
