LAS VEGAS (UNLVrebels.com) – After concluding the indoor season at the Mountain West Championships a little less than a month ago, the UNLV track & field team set out east to the University of Arizona to start the outdoor season. The program will be competing at the Arizona Spring Break Fiesta, a one-day meet on Saturday, March 16 hosted in Tucson, Ariz.
The meet overall will showcase 14 different programs, ranging from NCAA Division I to NJCAA teams, taking place at Roy P. Drachman Stadium. A meet schedule for the event can be found

The Rebels will send 25 different student-athletes off to the meet, placing a UNLV student-athlete in almost every women's event offered at the meet. The day will be restricted to finals only in comparison to a prelim-final meet, field events starting first at 8 a.m. PT. The running events will kick off at 12 p.m. PT later, the final event being scheduled to start at 3:25 p.m. PT.
UNLV will have a handful of student-athletes listed in four events on the day in
Jaydea Carter,
Sophia Alexander and
AnnaKay Maitland.
Chinyere Okoro,
Kaelin Gowdy,
Malika Mashack will all compete in three different events each, the Rebels with nine other student-athletes participating in two.
Krisha Jayasankar will step into the throwing circle for the first time in the Scarlet & Gray uniform this academic year, competing in the women's shot put and discus events. Jayasankar represents the Rebels as a sophomore transfer from UTEP, originally from India. In those events, she'll compete alongside junior
Roxene Simpson representing UNLV.
Emili Osula Liis will also showcase herself for the first time this year for UNLV, the Estonia native aiming high in the women's javelin in her first meet as a sophomore for the program.
