HOW IT WENT DOWN: The Rebels went ahead early 1-0 in the top of the first inning thanks to an Ariana Martinez ground ball RBI. Both squads were scoreless through the second and third inning. In the top of the fourth inning, Jesse Farrell went yard for her fourth time this season to give UNLV a 2-0 lead. The Rebels added two more to the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Marisa Bowman roped an RBI double and Janyssa Martin smacked an RBI single and made it 4-0. The Lobos cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring two runs on two hits, 4-2. UNLV increased the lead to 6-2 in the top of the sixth inning on a Rylei Trujillo single up the middle that brought in two runs. The Rebels came back to the plate in the top of the final inning and took advantage of a Lobos' error to score another run and make it 7-2. In the bottom half of the seventh, New Mexico attempted to make a comeback getting within two after two home runs, 7-5, but the Rebels were able to get out of the inning and hold onto the victory.
