Rebels Drop Game Two Against Bulldogs

Sunday’s game will decide the series between the two squads

FRESNO, Calif.  (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team dropped 7-0 to Fresno State in game two of the Mountain West series on Saturday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond. The Rebels (27-14,10-5 MW) and Bulldogs (29-15, 9-6 MW) will look to game three to decide the series.

UNLV and Fresno State were scoreless in the first inning, but the Bulldogs grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and continued to hold the Rebels off the board. UNLV's offense was held to just three hits and only the fourth time this season the Rebels were blanked.

THE TURNING POINT: After a scoreless first and top of the second inning, the Bulldogs took advantage of a UNLV error to score the first run of the game. Fresno State added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning on four hits. The Bulldogs tallied another run in the fourth and two more in the sixth to collect the insurance runs.
