RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) — The UNLV men's soccer team grabbed its second consecutive point in WAC play Thursday night in a 1-1 draw against California Baptist at CBU Soccer Stadium.
A cross from sophomore
Thomas Lebeuf led to a 72nd-minute goal by junior
Bryce Allred to put the Rebels (3-4-4, 0-0-2 WAC) on the board first. The Scarlet & Gray pushed its shutout streak to 272 minutes before the Lancers (5-2-3, 0-1-1 WAC) scored on a spectacular 79th-minute strike for the equalizer.
Battling until the very end, UNLV strung together four total shots over the final seven minutes of play, culminating in a last-second heave from freshman
Jace Sais that had the distance but went to the right post as time expired.
QUOTABLE: "It was a great team performance tonight on the road playing a top team. There were so many good things and we controlled the game on both sides of the ball. It came down to a special shot for them to tie it up and then us needing a bit more luck after hitting the post to get the winner. In the end we can move forward with so many positives to take into the next game."
- UNLV Head Coach BJ Craig
UP NEXT: The Rebels will close their first WAC road trip with another 7 p.m. match at San Diego State on Sunday.
NOTES:
- UNLV's pair of draws to open WAC play gives them their first unbeaten streak through the squad's first two conference games since the 2018 season.
- Allred's goal gave him a team-leading with two scores and four points on the season.
- Lebeuf became the ninth Rebel to record a point and fifth to do so by an assist in the 2025 campaign.
