What Can Brown Do For You? Earn Midseason All-America

Aamaris Brown

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) –
UNLV senior defensive back Aamaris Brown (ah-MAR-is) has been named to The Sporting News Midseason All-America Team, the media site announced Wednesday.

Brown (Tampa, FL), who previously played at Kansas State and South Florida, set a UNLV record by grabbing an interception in four consecutive games (first four of the season). He is currently tied for third in the nation in picks and is one of four players to have returned two interceptions for a touchdown this fall. He returned one 52 yards in a win at Sam Houston and one 67 yards at Miami (OH), which helped him earn Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 1. Brown was also named the Jim Thorpe Award National DB of the Week on September 9 after securing the team's win over UCLA with a game-ending pick.

Brown, who missed one game because of injury, stands fifth on the squad with 26 total tackles, second with three tackles-for-loss and first with two quarterback sacks to go with three pass breakups.

Brown and UNLV head into a showdown at Boise State on Saturday at 12:30 pm PT on FS1. The next home game is Nov. 1 vs. New Mexico at noon. Fans can still take advantage of the Showtime Deal which, for only $66, allows fans to choose to attend the remaining three home games at Allegiant Stadium, with seating located on the north 200-level, including access to the Coors Light Landing.

The Showtime Deal can be purchased online at UNLVtickets.com. In addition, fans can take advantage of the Kids Day special for Nov. 1, with tickets as low as $23.
