Box Score

BOISE, Idaho (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV (6-1/2-1) saw its seven-game overall win streak snapped by a familiar foe as Boise State (5-2/3-0) prevailed going away, 56-31, in front of a sun-baked sold-out crowd of 32,927 at Albertsons Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Rebels, wearing white from top to bottom, were driving with a chance to take the lead early in the third quarter but punted it away on fourth and short and the Broncos scored three straight touchdowns in the next nine minutes, including one on a pick-six, to take control and earn its nation-leading 16th consecutive home victory.

REBEL OF THE GAME:
Junior WR DeAngelo Irvin Jr. had a career game as a Rebel, hauling in four receptions for 90 yards, including a 60-yarder, all career-bests.

STAT OF THE GAME:
UNLV fell to 0-7 all-time at Boise State and has not defeated the Broncos anywhere since 1976.

QUOTABLE:
"Too many little mistakes. We had some opportunities at different times. We got the stop to start the second half and got the ball for an opportunity to take the lead. In big games you have to make those plays to go do that and too many mistakes can catch up to us. We've been talking about how we've been finding ways to win, even though we haven't played exceptionally well at times. And today, you make those mistakes against a really good football team it catches up to you."
-UNLV Head Coach Dan Mullen

NOTABLE:
--UNLV and Boise State met on the football field for the fourth time in just 23 months
--RB Jet Thomas became the ninth Rebel in history to reach the 2,000-yard rushing yard mark in a career and then moved past Joe Haro into eighth place on the school's all-time list with 2,036 yards
-Jaden Bradley caught a 35-yard touchdown to mark his third score of the season
-Ramon Villela made his ninth consecutive field goal attempt
-QB Anthony Colandrea ran in his third touchdown of the fall with an eight-yard scamper to draw UNLV to within four points at halftime. He would end up leading the team in rushing with 87 yards on 13 carries despite being sacked three times
-Colandrea threw a second touchdown on the day from 17 yards out to Troy Omeire to close the scoring
-UNLV extended its school-record streak of scoring at least 30 points to seven games to start a season
-The Rebels actually earned more first downs than the Broncos, 22-21
-Laterrance Welch's interception in the second quarter was his third of the season
-Defensive captain Marsel McDuffie led the team with six total tackles, including five solo

UP NEXT: UNLV will have its third and final off week before hosting New Mexico on November 1 at noon at Allegiant Stadium.
