LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball team wrapped up the 2025 season with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-15) sweep of the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday afternoon at The Pavilion. With the victory, the Rebels improved to 13-15 and 7-11 in MW play, while San Jose State ended its year at 13-16 and 8-10 in the MW.
The Scarlet & Gray's triumph also saw junior libero Caleigh King become the seventh member of the 1,000 dig club in program history as she recorded a match tying-high 17 digs to collect 1,005 career digs in her three seasons with the Rebels. Additionally, three seniors - Alondra Alarcon, Isha Knight and Kennedy Peery were recognized post-match for their Senior Day ceremonies.
The Rebels out hit the Spartans .188 to .106 with help from 13 more kills (44-31), 14 more digs (75-61), 17 more assists (43-26) and seven more service aces (10-3). UNLV improved its hitting percentage as the match went on, with the Rebels notching a .116 clip in set one, .184 in set two and .268 in set three. Meanwhile, SJSU's best hitting percentage came in set one with a .273 clip, but hit .040 in set two and .000 in set three.
UNLV was paced offensively by the duo Basia Latos (match-high 12 kills) and Brooklynn Williams (11 kills), while Jaida Harris and Alarcon tallied eight kills apiece. On the defensive side of the net, five Rebels, including King, posted double-digit digs with Kaia Thiele collecting 17 digs, Harris adding 15, Latos notching 12 and Alarcon with 10.
Rheanna Deen-Jackson put down a match high four block assists, while Latos and Williams collected two apiece. Thiele (19 assists) and Alexa Ankerstar (13 assists) combined for 32 of the team's 43 assists.
