LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV Lady Rebels are back in Las Vegas to host their annual UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey Tip-Off starting Wednesday, November 26 with a noon contest versus Creighton (1-3) at the Thomas & Mack Center. Northern Arizona (1-5) and Northern Iowa (UNI) (1-3) will follow at approximately 2:30 p.m.
On Friday, the Scarlet & Gray will play UNI at 2:30 p.m., following the contest between NAU and Creighton at noon.
ABOUT CREIGHTON: UNLV and Creighton are tied 3-3 in the all-time series. The last time the two squads met was in the 2023 NCAA First Round, in which the Blue Jays earned an 87-73 win over the Lady Rebels. Creighton heads into the Turkey Tip-off with a 1-3 overall record and are coming off a 51-50 loss to UNI. The Blue Jays have two players scoring in double-figures and are led by Ava Zediker who is averaging 13.0 points per game. Kiani Lockett is the second-leading scorer with 10.0 points per game. Grace Boffeli leads Creighton in rebounds with 8.0 boards per game.
ABOUT UNI: UNLV and UNI have only met once, with the lone contest happening on November 22,1985 in Tempe at a neutral site. The Lady Rebels earned a 79-65 victory over the Panthers. UNI heads into the Turkey Tip-off with a 1-3 overall record and are coming off a 51-50 win over Creighton. The Panthers are led by Taryn Wharton and Ryley Goebel. Wharton averages 8.8 points per game, while Goebel is averaging 8.5 points per game, respectively. Elise Jaeger is the leading rebounder for the Panthers, bringing down 10.5 boards per game.
