LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming teams are set to compete in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Minnesota Invitational from Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 4-6, at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
Fans can follow the action via the MeetMobile app as well as the live results link here. The meet will also be streamed on YouTube at the link here. Additionally, results will be posted on UNLVRebels.com after the meets.
Swim prelims will begin at 8 a.m. PT, followed by diving prelims at 10 a.m. PT and will conclude with the finals at 3 p.m. PT for each day of competition.
Competing at the meet will be host Minnesota's No. 21 women's team and men's squad, Cal's No. 6 men's and women's squads, Iowa State, Denver, Harvard and Rutgers.
LAST OUTING: The Scarlet & Gray women's team earned back-to-back home dual-meet wins over BYU and Utah. In total, the Rebels combined to win 29 events over the two meets, with 21 of those coming from the women's squad and eight coming from the men's group.
MPSF LEADERS: The Rebel men have multiple MPSF-leading times this season, highlighted by Bryson Huey in the 50 free (19.25) and 100 fly (46.93) and Wikus Potgieter in the 50 back (21.72). Additionally, the Scarlet & Gray 200 medley relay squad of Potgieter, Tyler Schneider, Emil Perez and Huey hold a conference-best time of 1:26.42.
MOUNTAIN WEST TOP TIMES: Ava Olson leads the Rebel women with a conference-best time in the 1000 free (9:51.82). Additionally, the group has multiple top-5 conference times which includes Fernanda Mendez Guerra at third in the 100 fly (53.25) and fourth in the 50 fly (24.83), Erika Carlson at third in the 200 free (1:46.36) and Rachel Wigginton at fourth in the 200 fly (1:59.67).
