MINNEAPOLIS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming teams gathered eight top-10 finishes on Saturday's final day of the Minnesota Invitational at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- In the 200 fly, senior Ian Belflower earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:43.94, while redshirt junior Colby Raffel followed closely behind in sixth (1:44.23).
- Junior Wikus Potgieter placed 11th in the 200 back behind a time of 1:46.28.
- The Rebels 400 free relay 'A' team of Potgieter (44.48), redshirt sophomore Emil Perez (43.66), seniors Bryson Huey (43.19) and Belflower (45.16) reeled in a sixth-place finish (2:56.49).
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Starting the meet strong, junior Ava Olson powered her way to a sixth-place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 16:42.32.
- In a top-3 finish of the 100 free, senior Erika Carlson placed third in a time of 48.91.
-In the 200 back, sophomore Grace Wharton earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:57.19.
- Sophomore Halayna Montrichard placed ninth overall and won her heat in the 200 back (1:57.19).
- Freshman Rachel Wigginton posted a seventh-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.07.
