LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football will make a third consecutive bowl trip for the first time in program history when it faces Ohio in the 2025 Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl in Texas on Tuesday, Dec. 23, organizers announced Sunday.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT on ESPN. The game will be played at the Ford Center, a 12,000-seat stadium that is part of the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and training facility.
Head coach Dan Mullen's Rebels (10-3/6-2), who just competed in their third consecutive Mountain West Championship game on Friday, will face the Bobcats (8-4/6-2), who tied for second place in the Mid-American Conference, for only the second time. UNLV won the first meeting in Las Vegas, 26-18, on Sept. 24, 1988.
"So exciting for us and our players to get to play in a bowl game," said Mullen. "The one thing that makes bowl games really unique is the opportunity to travel and learn something new about a city. Frisco, Texas, is a great location to go to for a bowl game. There's a lot of guys on our team that have never gotten to experience that part of the country. I think our guys are going to be excited because they want to get back out there and play again after (falling to Boise State) Friday night. The opportunity to get out there and play in the next two weeks is going to be pretty exciting for us."
UNLV is 4-2 all-time in bowls, including a 24-13 win over Cal in last year's LA Bowl. The Rebels will play their second bowl game in the Lone Star State after facing North Texas in the 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl at historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. UNLV has won three straight games played in the state, including at trip to Sam Houston back on August 29 of this year.
