Huey Named MPSF Athlete Of The Week

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's swimming senior Bryson Huey has been named the MPSF Men's Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

This marks his third MPSF Weekly award this season. 

Huey, a native of Walnut Creek, California, broke a program record and posted four top-5 finishes at the Minnesota Invitational. He set the new school top mark in the 50 free (19.02) to place second, surpassing the previous 10-year-old record (19.07) held by former Rebel Dillon Virva since 2015.

Additionally, Huey swam the third leg of the Rebels' 400 medley relay team that finished in third (3:10.57). During the second day of competition, he was the lead-off leg (19.31) of the Rebels' 200 free relay that placed fourth (1:17.90). On the final day of the meet, Huey anchored the Rebels' 200 medley relay squad that placed second (1:25.58).

UP NEXT: The UNLV men's and women's diving teams will return to action at their annual UNLV Invitational set for Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 15-17.
