LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – New UNLV football head coach Dan Mullen's first recruiting class, which numbers more than 40, includes four new high school players, two of whom signed during Wednesday's opening day of the traditional national signing period.
The latest additions join 13 current and future Rebels who were announced during the early period in December by then-head coach Barry Odom.
The overall class of newcomers unveiled Wednesday, which includes both high school and transfer portal additions, is made up of players hailing from 14 U.S. states and three different countries. Eight list their hometowns as being in Florida, seven from Texas, five each from Louisiana and Georgia, four from California, three from Nevada and two from Illinois. One newcomer each is from Hawai'i, Ohio, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina and Connecticut, along with Australia and England.
The new group is split evenly as 21 new Rebels make their home on offense, 18 on defense and four on special teams. The full position breakdown is: 10 DB, 5 WR, 6 OL, 4 DL, 4 LB, 4 TE, 3 QB, 3 RB, 2 P, 1 PK and 1 LS.
UNLV's transfer class leads the Mountain West and ranks No. 62 in the nation according to 247Sports. That is higher than all but three other Non-A5 schools.
The Rebels are preparing to start the Mullen era after finishing the 2024 season with their most wins since 1984 at 11-3 and ranked nationally for the first time ever at No. 23 in the AP Poll.
