BYE WEEK NOTES...
After a tough trip to Texas, UNLV (1-2/1-0) gets its first of two off weeks this season ... Next up, the Rebels return to the road to play in their fourth different time zone already in this young season with a trip to play Akron of the Mid-American Conference ... The Rebels just saw their Mountain West-record six-game win streak against non-conference opponents snapped with a 44-6 defeat at North Texas ... Even with the loss, UNLV still has more road victories than any other team in college football since the start of the 2024 season with 12 ... Against the Mean Green, the Rebels failed to score at least 20 points in a regular-season game for the first time since falling 35-7 at eventual national champion Michigan in the second game of 2023. That school-record streak ended at 36 games, which was by far the longest active such streak in the FBS ... UNLV, which is going five weeks between home games, will next be at Allegiant Stadium on Oct. 3 when it hosts Cal of the ACC for the first time ever ... That game vs. the Golden Bears will close out the Rebs' non-conference schedule for 2026 as new league member North Dakota State will head to town for homecoming on Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. PT.

AKRON TIME, TV ANNOUNCED
Kickoff time for the Sept. 26 meeting with the Zips was announced on Monday and the game is now set for 9 am PT (noon ET) and will be available via  ESPN+ ... UNLV's only previous meeting with Akron came in Ohio during the 1976 NCAA Div. II playoffs.
