LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team fell in game two, 3-1, against Fresno State in the second weekend of league play on Saturday afternoon at Eller Media Stadium.

The Rebels (16-14, 1-4 MW) and Bulldogs (19-9, 5-0 MW) scored in the first three innings of play, but were both held scoreless for the final four innings.
Ariana Martinez led UNLV at the plate, going 2-for-4.
Karmyna Becerra had the squad's lone RBI on the day.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the first inning on a solo home run and an RBI double, 2-0. In the top of the third, Fresno State tallied one run on a sacrifice fly to center and made it 3-0. The Rebels were able to cut the deficit to two, in the bottom of the third inning on a
Karmyna Becerra sacrifice fly to left field, 3-1. The next four innings were a pitchers' duel between the two squads, as each team was able to get runners on and in scoring position, but were retired in every final out.

OTHER NOTES:
- Bri Williams, Maddie Scott and Diamond Sefe each had a hit against the Bulldogs.
- The Rebels had three walks on the day compared to the Bulldogs' two walks.
- The Scarlet & Gray two pitchers, combined for three strikeouts, compared to Fresno States' two pitchers, only had one strikeout.
- Becerra has now reached base in six straight games.
- The Rebels have four players on a two-game hitting streak which include Martinez, Williams, Sefe and Scott.
