LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Softball team closed out the three-game series against Fresno State with a 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Eller Media Stadium.

The Rebels (17-14, 2-4 MW) shutout the Bulldogs (19-10, 5-1 MW) only allowing five total hits. The Scarlet & Gray scored two runs on six hits. Freshman
Yanina Sherwood picked up her seventh win of the season and moved to an 7-6 overall record. Senior
Ariana Martinez led the UNLV offense going 2-for-3 from the plate and scored one run.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: In the bottom of the first inning,
Ariana Martinez smacked a double to left center and she later advanced to third on a fly out. Martinez then scored the first run of the game on a Bulldogs' passed ball. After four and a half of scoreless innings, senior
Sofia Morales knocked in an RBI double to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. With two runners on in the top of the seventh, Fresno State threatened with two runners on and two outs, but after a Rebels' pitching change, UNLV closed out the game with a ground ball.
