LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Lady Rebels are moving on in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament and will host Florida on Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m. for the second round of the WBIT. The Scarlet & Gray collected their first postseason win in over two decades with a victory in the first round against Hawai'i.

ABOUT FLORIDA: UNLV is 2-0 all-time against Florida and this will mark only the third meeting between the two programs. The Gators are coming off of a 83-71 victory in the first round of the WBIT over UNI. UF heads into Sunday's contest with a 17-17 overall record. The Gators have four players scoring in double-digits and are led by Liv McGill who is averaging 16.1 points per game. Ra Shaya Kyle is the second-leading scorer on the squad and leads the team in rebounds, averaging nearly a double-double of 14.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Lindy La Rocque. The UNLV Lady Rebels are on to round two of the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament after defeating Hawai'i 63-46 in the first round on Thursday evening at Cox Pavilion. This marks the first postseason win since the 2003-04 season when UNLV made a championship run in the WNIT. The Scarlet & Gray had three players in double-figures and were led by
Meadow Roland who dropped 16 points off the bench. Roland shot 7-for-13 from the field, 1-for-2 from the free throw line and sank one three-pointer.
Amarachi Kimpson was the second-leading scorer on the night, putting up 14 points.
Macy Spencer came off the bench as well and collected 10 points by shooting 3-for-6 from the field, 2-for-2 from the charity stripe and drained two three's.
McKinna Brackens led the squad in rebounds with 12 boards (four offensive, eight defensive).

THREE'S A CHARM AGAIN: After completing the four-peat Mountain West regular season title for only the second time in league history and first in UNLV history, the Lady Rebels were honored for their accomplishments by the conference's coaches tying a school-record for the second consecutive season, and earned three MW best of the year honors, the league announced Sunday. Meadow Roland was named the league's Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year. This is the second time in program history that a Lady Rebel has earned Freshman and Sixth player of the year in the same season. This marks the second straight year the Scarlet & Gray collected Freshman and Sixth Player of the Year. UNLV has now collected four straight Sixth Player of the Year nods and a combined five Freshman of the Year nods. La Rocque is the first coach in MW history to be named Coach of the Year three times in just her first five seasons, and marks the second time in program history UNLV has collected three Coach of the Year accolades. FOUR-PEAT MW REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS: The Lady Rebels secured the No. 1 seed for the Mountain West Basketball Championships and the regular season title for the fourth straight year. UNLV defeated Boise State 83-53 to clinch and move to 15-1 overall in the MW standings. This marks the first time in program history the Scarlet & Gray claimed the MW regular season title and the second time in MW history and first time since Colorado State's four-peat in 2014-17.
