Nicusan, Vazquez Ready For NCAA Championships In Washington

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV senior Daniel Nicusan and sophomore Alex Vazquez are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships from Thursday-Saturday, March 27-29 at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.

Nicusan is slated to swim in the 200 IM on Thursday, the 100 breast on Friday and the 200 breast on Saturday. Vazquez is set to compete in the 1-meter dive on Thursday.

Originally from Targu Mures, Romania, Nicusan will make his first national championship appearance. He enters the competition ranked 29th in the 100 breast (51.58), 31st in the 200 breast (1:53.15) and 50th in the 200 IM (1:43.96) among competitors scheduled to swim in those events.

Vazquez a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, will also make his first national championship appearance. He made it to the big stage in the 1-meter dive after achieving an overall qualifying score of 690.75 at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships.
