SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Softball team fell 8-0 in five innings against San Diego State in game one of the three-game Mountain West series on Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium.

Maddie Scott were the offensive leaders for the Scarlet & Gray (18-20, 2-10 MW) on the night each going 1-for-2 against the Aztecs (25-14, 9-5 MW)

HOW IT WENT DOWN: The Aztecs got ahead, 4-0, in the bottom of the first inning on a grand slam. In the bottom of the second inning, San Diego State scored two runs on a ground out and a single to right center. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Aztecs tallied two more runs on a fielder's choice to third to go ahead, 8-0. In the top of the fifth inning, the Rebels made solid contact, but were retired in order.

OTHER NOTES:
- Jazmine Chavez threw 2.0 innings and struck out two batters.
- Each team had a double-play in the game.
- The Rebels were held to three hits.
- Jesse Farrell is now on a three-game hitting streak. Farrell has also reached base in six straight games.
- Karmyna Becerra has currently reached base in four straight games.
