SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team was unable to hold on and dropped 12-4 in five innings against San Diego State in game two of the three-game Mountain West series on Saturday at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Rebels (18-21, 2-11 MW) took an early lead in the top of the first inning, but were held off the scoreboard for the next four innings by the Aztecs (26-14, 10-5 MW).
Jesse Farrell,
Ariana Martinez,
Karmyna Becerra and
Amelia Weber all had a hit for the Scarlet & Gray. Martinez and Becerra each had an RBI and a double.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: Jesse Farrell led things off in the top of the first inning with a seven-pitch walk. The Aztecs threw the ball away on a ground ball to the pitcher, and
Sofia Morales made it all the way to third while Farrell scored to give UNLV a 1-0 lead.
Ariana Martinez then doubled down the right field line bringing in Morales to put UNLV ahead 2-0.
Karmyna Becerra traded places with Martinez on a double down the left field line and made it 3-0. The Rebels took advantage of another error by the Aztecs to go up 4-0. San Diego State cut the deficit to two, in the bottom of the first inning scoring two runs on three hits, 4-2. The next two innings both squads were held off the score board. San Diego State took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring four runs on three hits, 6-4. The Rebels were held off the base path in the top of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Aztecs tallied six runs on five hits to earn the win.

OTHER NOTES:
- Farrell also had one walk on the day. She is also now on a four-game hitting streak and has reached base in seven straight games.
- Becerra is now on a three-game hitting streak and has reached base in five consecutive games.
- Four different Rebels crossed home plate, which included Sofia Morales, Farrell, Martinez and Becerra.
