SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team came up short, 4-0, in the series finale against San Diego State on Sunday at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Rebels (18-22, 2-12 MW) were led at the plate by
Sofia Morales and
Jesse Farrell each having a hit against the Aztecs (27-14, 11-5 MW). Farrell's hit was the squad's lone double of the game.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: The first inning was scoreless on both sides, and the Aztecs jumped out front in the bottom of the second inning on a solo home run, 1-0. In the bottom of the fourth inning, San Diego State tacked on another run on an RBI ground ball, 2-0. The Aztecs scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on a two-run home run, 4-0. Both squads were held off the board in the sixth inning. In the top of the seventh inning, the Rebels made contact on all three outs, but were retired in order.

OTHER NOTES:
- Ariana Martinez and Charelle Aki each drew a walk against San Diego State.
- Farrell is now on a five-game hitting streak and has reached base in eight straight games.
- For the weekend, Farrell led the squad hitting a .429 (3-for-7) with a double, a walk and a run scored. She also led in slugging percentage (.571) and on-base percentage (.500).
- Karmyna Becerra and Ariana Martinez each had a double and RBI on the weekend.
UP NEXT: The Scarlet & Gray will be back at Eller Media Stadium for the next three games with a non-conference midweek contest on deck first against CBU on Wednesday, April 16 at 5 p.m. UNLV will then host San Jose State in a two-game series beginning on Friday, April 18 and concluding on Saturday, April 19.
