LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV softball team is back in the win column after earning a 7-6 walk-off win in eight innings against California Baptist in a midweek non-conference game on Wednesday at Eller Media Stadium.

The Rebels (19-22) and Lancers (19-25) went back-and forth with a run from either squad in almost every inning played. CBU tied the game in the top of the seventh and retired UNLV in the bottom half of the seventh to force the extra inning. The Rebels capitalized on another two-out rally to collect the win in the bottom of the eighth.
Ariana Martinez reached base in every at-bat against the Lancers going 3-for-3 including a walk, hit-by-pitch and had two RBI.
Amelia Weber and
Yanina Sherwood each saw the circle for the Scarlet & Gray. Sherwood collected the win, in relief, for her eighth win of the season.

HOW IT WENT DOWN: After a scoreless first inning, the Lancers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning. CBU then added another run in the top of the third inning and made it 2-0. In the bottom of the third inning, the Rebels scored four runs on a two-out rally.
Karmyna Becerra hit a double down the left field line bringing in a run to cut the deficit to one, 2-1.
Charelle Aki then drew a four-pitch walk.
Bri Williams came in to pinch hit, and on a 2-2 count sent a single to right field bringing in two more runs for the Rebels, 3-2.
Kailani Olivas then blooped a single to center field, bringing in Aki to give UNLV a 4-2 lead. The Lancers got within one, 4-3, in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single to right.
Jesse Farrell went yard in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Scarlet & Gray ahead 5-3. In the top of the fifth inning, CBU tied the game scoring two runs on three hits, 5-all. In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Ariana Martinez put UNLV back on top with an RBI single to right field, 6-5. The Lancers tied the game in the top of the seventh inning, on an infield RBI single, 6-all. The Rebels were retired in order in the bottom of the seventh inning and the game went into extras. In the bottom of the eighth inning, with two-outs
Sofia Morales singled through the right side. Martinez then came to the plate and with a 1-1 count, roped a single to left center bringing in Morales for the win.

OTHER NOTES:
- Jesse Farrell was 3-for-5 at the plate, which included a double, home run and had an RBI. Farrell is now on a six-game hitting streak and has reached base in nine straight games.
- Charelle Aki was 2-for-3 against the Lancers and had one walk.
- Bri Williams came in to pinch hit and went 1-for-1 with two RBI.
- Martinez has now reached base in three consecutive games.

UP NEXT: The Rebels will stay home for the next Mountain West series hosting San Jose State for two games. UNLV and SJSU will play game one on Friday, April 18 at 3 p.m.
