CRESWELL, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) – Behind a trio of individuals under par for the third straight day, the UNLV men's golf team carded a final-round 13-under 275 Sunday to finish second at the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship at Emerald Valley Golf Club (Par 72, 7,210 yards).
SUNDAY SCORECARD: Sophomore
Zach Little recorded a career-low round at 8-under 64 after also dropping in nine of the Rebels' 24 birdies on the MW event's final 18 holes. Also adding under-par scores were junior
Wyatt Plattner at 4-under 68, who eagled hole No. 7, and senior
Trevor Lewis at 1-under 71. Making up the rest of the round's scorecard, senior
Caden Fioroni shot an even-par 72.
REBEL ROUNDUP: Little paced the Scarlet & Gray's three top-10 individual finishes, climbing 10 spots into third place with a career-low tournament score at 13-under 203. Fioroni and Plattner joined him in the top 10 as they tied for ninth at 8-under 208, which was also Plattner's new career-best 54-hole score. Rounding out the lineup, Lewis tied for 30th at even-par 216 and junior
Brett Sawaia tied for 33rd at 1-over 217.
As a team, the Rebels made a one-spot jump for the second consecutive round and ended the conference championship at 31-under 833 through 54 holes. Additionally, by way of its higher finish than eighth-place UNR, the Scarlet & Gray also clinched three points in the Silver State Series presented by America First Credit Union
CHAMPIONS: San Diego State walked away with the team title with a 54-under 810. SDSU's Justin Hastings also came away with the individual title at 18-under 198.
UP NEXT: UNLV will now turn its attention to the NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show on April 30 at 10 a.m. PT to hear its NCAA Regional fate.
OTHER NOTES:
- With its performance at the conference event, UNLV has now notched eight top-6 team performances during the 2024-25 season.
- The second-place effort is the Rebels' highest finish at the Mountain West Championship in the last six years.
