DALLAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Behind a pair of under-par rounds by seniors
Ryan Abuan and
Zach Little, the UNLV men's golf team shot a 2-under 286 to remain in the top 3 after Monday's second round at the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72, 7,617 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: The Rebel leaders positioned themselves in the top 5 heading into the final round, with Abuan using a second-round 5-under 67 to move into second and Little ending the day in a tie for third after his 1-under 71. Abuan slid his tournament score to 8-under 136 and Little lowered his to 7-under 135 through 36 holes.
Following Abuan and Little in the lineup, sophomore
Aaron Van Hauwe (-2) kept his place in the top 20 in a tie for 16th while senior
Mason Snyder (+1) holds a tied-for-33rd standing. Junior
Mason Haley (+6) is tied for 67th and junior
Baylor Bostick (+9) follows in a tie for 82nd playing as an individual.
DAY-TWO LEADERBOARD: USC (-24) posted a 14-under 274 as a team to take the day-two lead, while also seeing its own Deitrek Gill (-12) maintain the individual lead. UNLV (-16) stands in third, eight shots out of first and within three shots of East Tennessee in second. Abuan, meanwhile, finds himself four shots back of Gill on the individual leaderboard.
