LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's golf senior Caden Fioroni has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
Fioroni earns the recognition for the third time this season, while it's the men's golf team's fourth of the year.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
Originally from San Diego, Fioroni led the Rebels to a third-place finish at the NCAA Urbana Regional as they punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships. In his tied-for-second finish, he shot a 9-under 204 (68-67-69) at the regional, including under-par scorecards in all three rounds and his best outing with a second-round 4-under 67.
Additionally, it was his fourth top-5 finish of the season and third this spring. Currently, he ranks No. 17 in the PGA Tour University rankings and No. 21 in the Scoreboard Powered by Clippd national rankings.
