LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's swimming & diving senior
Hannah Jones has been recognized as the Credit Union 1 Community Champion by the Mountain West, the league office announced today.
The distinction honors her dedication to civic engagement, leadership, and service through charitable organizations in Las Vegas. As part of the recognition, CU1 will donate $500 in Jones' name to
The Children's Foundation.
A Las Vegas native out of Shadow Ridge High School, Jones has constantly shown her strong commitment to service via UNLV Athletics' Community Engagement initiatives. She has also led additional volunteer opportunities along with those coordinated by the department.
Among her community service activities, Jones has volunteered at the
Girls on the Run 5K, spearheaded her team's participation in
Operation Christmas Child, and coordinated the creation and delivery of handmade cards from the team for nursing home residents through
Uplifting Deliveries.
The Credit Union 1 Community Champion Award is presented quarterly during the 2025-26 academic year and recognizes student-athletes who exceed expectations in their efforts to serve others, foster meaningful partnerships, and drive positive change. Jones' work stands as a model for what it means to be a leader both in and out of the pool.
