LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's soccer team rallied from deficits twice to earn a 2-2 draw vs. San Jose State in Thursday night's Mountain West opener at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
After the Spartans went ahead 2-1 late in the first half, the Rebels (2-6-2, 0-0-1 MW) evened things up in the 80th minute on a rocket of a goal sent in by senior
Sarah Martinez off touches from senior
Elisa Corvalan and sophomore
Elizabeth Bautista. The other Scarlet & Gray response came less than a minute after SJSU's opening goal when senior
Michelle Madrid scored off a free kick from senior
Kylie Camp in the eighth minute.
STAT OF THE GAME: The Scarlet & Gray's hard-fought point came as it doubled up SJSU with a 10-5 advantage in the shots-on-goal department, including six targets on frame in the second half.
UP NEXT: The Rebels remain home for another Mountain West showdown on Sunday, Sept. 28 at noon vs. Fresno State.
MATCH NOTES:
- Madrid improved her goal tally to a team-leading three scores on the season, while Martinez notched her first goal of 2025.
- In the assist line, Camp ended the night with her second helper of the year to go along with the first of the season for both Corvalan and Bautista.
