LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams will hit the road to Arizona for a pair of meets this week.
The diving teams will start at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona from Thursday-Friday Jan. 29-30. The meet will start at 10:30 a.m. PT for each day of competition.
The Scarlet & Gray swimming and diving teams will reunite to face Grand Canyon on Saturday, Jan. 31. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. PT.
Fans can follow the action on the DiveMeets website as well as on the MeetMobile app. Results will be posted at the end of each day on UNLVRebels.com.
MPSF LEADERS: The Rebel men have multiple MPSF-leading times this season, highlighted by Ian Belflower in the 100 fly (46.89) and 200 fly (1:43.94), Bryson Huey in the 50 free (19.02), Wikus Potgieter in the 50 back (21.72) and Tatsuki Inoue in the 100 back (46.82). Additionally, the Scarlet & Gray have three conference-best relay times in the 400 free relay (2:52.96), 200 medley relay (1:25.58) and 400 medley relay (3:10.57).
MOUNTAIN WEST TOP TIMES: Ava Olson leads the Rebel women with a conference-best time in the 1000 free (9:50.25) and stands at second in the 500 free (4:44.88). Additionally, the group has multiple top-3 conference times which include Fernanda Mendez Guerra at third in the 100 fly (53.09), Erika Carlson at third in the 200 free (1:46.33) and Grace Wharton at third in the 400 IM (4:15.12).
DIVING SEASON LEADERS: Leading the Rebels on the men's side is Evan Stingley, who has team-best scores on the 1-meter springboard (301.05), 3-meter springboard (326.55) and platform (321.15). On the women's side, sophomore Allyse Abbott has team-best scores on the 1-meter springboard (276.45) and 3-meter springboard (278.10), while junior Chelsey Dorosh has a team-best score on platform (213.55).
