LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's Veronika Kliuch has been named the Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week while teammate Eszter Kis-Czako was the MW Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. It was the first such awards for both Rebels.

Kliuch, a sophomore out of Lviv, Ukraine, went a combined 5-0 in singles and doubles over the weekend while helping her team to a trio of shutout victories. UNLV downed Seattle, NAU and New Mexico State by a combined score of 18-0 to improve to 7-2 on the season.

Playing at the No. 1 spot in singles, Kliuch won all three of her outings to improve to 16-2 overall, including 9-0 in dual matches. She also teamed with Kis-Czako for a pair of doubles victories at the second spot in the lineup as the Rebels remained undefeated in doubles in 2026.

Kis-Czako, out of Kiskunfelegyhaza, Hungary, also won both of her completed singles matches at the No. 4 spot to improve to 13-4 as a rookie, including 6-2 in duals.

The Rebels will play their first away match of the season when they open Mountain West action by visiting New Mexico on Friday.
