LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's golf sophomore Amber Chen was named the Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week while Demi Du collected the Freshman of the Week award, the league office announced Thursday. Chen and Du both receive the honors for the first time in their careers.

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Chen picked up her first career victory as the Rebels swept the team and individual titles at the Jackrabbits Invitational hosted by South Dakota State. She tied her career-low tournament score at 9-under 207, including a 4-under 68 in the final two rounds. Additionally, Chen tallied a career-high 17 birdies in the event.

A Las Vegas product, Du posted her best finish of the year by placing seventh in the Rebels' team win. She finished with a career-low tournament score of 3-under 213, closing her outing with a career-low 4-under 68 in the final round. The Scarlet & Gray rookie also made a career-high 11 birdies.

UP NEXT: The Rebels will play their final event of the regular season in Maricopa, Arizona, at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic from April 7-8.
