Las Vegas native and former Bishop Gorman High School standout Nicco Fertitta spent the 2024 season at UNLV as an assistant coach overseeing the team's safeties. 

Fertitta spent the 2023 season as a defensive analyst for the Rebels.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Fertitta was a star defensive back at national powerhouse Bishop Gorman before becoming a four-year letterman at Notre Dame from 2015-18 and graduating from the South Bend, Indiana, university in 2019. He would begin his coaching career as a defensive backs coach at his alma mater, Bishop Gorman, before joining head coach Brian Kelly’s staff at LSU as a defensive graduate assistant coach for the SEC school. Fertitta then returned home to join Barry Odom’s first staff in Las Vegas.
