UNLV: A long, athletic, hybrid ball hawk from the Bay Area who played linebacker, safety and even cornerback during his four-year career … Capped his time as a Rebel by playing in the NFL Players Association Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 18, 2020, at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium ... First name is pronounced “JAY-vin” … Named to the UNLV Football All-Decade Team at linebacker ... Finished sixth in school history with nine career interceptions and third in forced fumbles with seven ... Earned a spot on the Academic All-Mountain West Team in both 2018 and 2019.


2019: Named 2019 Preseason Third Team All-MW by Athlon and Fourth Team by Phil Steele’s … Represented the Rebel defense at the annual MW Media Days in Las Vegas ... Earned Honorable Mention All-MW as a senior ... One of two team captains on the Rebel defense ... The first UNLV player named to the Butkus Award Preseason Watch List since 2012 ... Started all 12 games an lined up at SAM, free safety and cornerback ... Was all over the field again while posting 79 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, 11 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery ... Named MW Defensive Player of the Week on October 14 after a victory at Vanderbilt October 14 ... White finished with seven total tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-loss, and forced two key turnovers to help UNLV stun Vanderbilt, 34-10, in Nashville. The win was the program’s first on the road vs. an SEC team and represented the fewest points allowed by a Rebel team in an away game since 2003. White hauled in his eighth career pick in the third quarter and returned it 44 yards to set up a UNLV field goal ... Just a few minutes later, he and teammate Rayshad Jackson combined to sack a Commodore quarterback and force a fumble that was eventually converted into a touchdown. 

2018: Started all 12 games at SAM in what was a breakout season … His 74 tackles included 6.5 TFL and two QB sacks … Also broke up four pass attempts to go with his team-leading four interceptions … Finished tied for ninth in the nation with four forced fumbles … Named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after his two interceptions thwarted scoring drives by UNR in UNLV’s historic come-from-behind victory over the Wolf Pack in the season finale … Had a career-high 10 tackles in back to back games vs. UNM and USU … His seven solo takedowns at Arkansas State included 1.5 TFL.

2017: Played in 11 games in both the defensive secondary and at linebacker, including starting the final five … Ranked ninth on the team with 42 tackles, including 3 TFL … Tied for the team lead with two interceptions … Turned in a memorable performance at No. 9 Ohio State when he took an interception back 65 yards for a touchdown and also forced a fumble at the goal line to keep the Buckeyes out of the end zone.

2016: Earned his first letter as a Rebel by appearing in eight games, primarily on special teams … Totaled six tackles.

2015: Redshirted season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterwinner at McClymonds HS under coach Michael Peters … A three-star prospect by Rivals … Named to the All-Oakland Athletic League First Team as a senior … Earned second team All-East Bay and all-metro … Also participated in track in the 110 meter hurdles and the high jump.

PERSONAL: Javin Durrell White was born in San Diego, CA … The son of Michael White and Janica Carter … Has one older sister, Lacora Cornist … Majored in interdisciplinary studies.
