COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- UNLV men's golfers Scott Lander and Travis Whisman were named to the 2001 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Men's Golf team, the league announced on Thursday.
The Rebels boasted two of the 25 men named to the squad. Lander, who graduated from UNLV last May with a bachelor's degree in communications, earned his second career selection to the league's honor roll after posting a 3.18 cumulative GPA. Whisman posted a 3.27 GPA as an undeclared freshman.
