LAS VEGAS - Linda Fr?hlich scored 32 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the UNLV women?s basketball team (1-1) to its first victory of the season, a 82-68 win over Southern Utah (1-1).
Fr?hlich, who had 22 points at halftime, also matched a career high with three 3-point goals.
The Lady Rebels, who led from start to finish in the game, held off a 10-0 run by the Thunderbirds in the second half with 18 free throws.
Freshman Constance Jinks scored 12 points before fouling out in her first career start.
UNLV will begin play in the Cox Communications/Lady Rebel Shootout against Weber State this Saturday at 7:35 p.m. in the Thomas and Mack Center. The tourney also features nationally-ranked Louisiana Tech and Southeast Missouri State.
