LAS VEGAS - Linda Fr?hlich led all players with 37 points and 14 rebounds as the UNLV women's basketball team defeated Southeast Missouri State 69-58 in the consolation game of the Cox Communications/Lady Rebel Shootout at the Thomas & Mack Center Sunday.
Fr?hlich missed career highs by three points and one rebound as UNLV evened its record at 2-2. Kinesha Davis was the Lady Rebels' second-leading scorer with 16 points.
SEMO (1-4) had four players score in double-figures with Paula Corder-King leading the way with 11 points. Regan Hughston had 11 rebounds with her 10 points and both Pam Iversen and Kristy Roherty added 10.
With a 54-51 lead and 4:52 remaining in the game, UNLV went on a 7-0 run over 2:15 to take a 10-point lead and cruised from there for the 11-point victory.
UNLV exploded out of halftime with a 13-5 run to take a four-point lead with 11:59 remaining at 44-40. SEMO led at the half 35-31.
In the shootout's championship game, Tamicha Jackson led all scorers with 22 points as No. 2 Louisiana Tech (3-1) defeated Weber State (1-2) 84-47. The Lady Techsters led 50-16 at halftime.
The Lady Rebels will now travel to Flagstaff, Ariz., to face Northern Arizona on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 6:05 p.m. PST. The game may be heard live on KENO 1460 AM in Las Vegas and by logging onto the internet at www.unlvrebels.com.
