LAS VEGAS - Linda Fr?hlich scored a game-high 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting as UNLV defeated the National Women's Basketball League's USA Elite Travel Team 89-60 in an exhibition game at Lied Gymnasium Saturday.
After leading by only two points at halftime (41-39), the Lady Rebels outscored NWBL 48-21 in the second half. The game was the first for UNLV this season and the only one that will be held at Lied Gymnasium.
The Lady Rebels also got scoring from Kinesha Davis (17 points) and Erin Johansson (14 points). Dayna Gambill dished out a game-high 8 assists, while Fr?hlich added 7. Fr?hlich also had a game-high 16 rebounds, while Brooke Ingalls pulled down 11.
NWBL was led by Melissa Sanford's 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Delona Little pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds and Cozette Ealy led the team in assists with 7.
UNLV will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 10 as it hosts the New Zealand National Team in its second and final exhibition game of the season. The game will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center and will tipoff at 7:35 p.m.
