Women's Basketball Defeats Denver 74-65

DENVER, Colo. - Both Kinesha Davis and Linda Fr?hlich recorded double-doubles for UNLV as it defeated Denver 74-65 in a women's basketball game at Magness Arena Monday.

Davis led all scorers with 26 points and added 12 rebounds for UNLV (4-2), while Fr?hlich had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Constance Jinks contributed 14 points, while Carlesa Dixon pulled down 10 rebounds.

Denver (2-2) was led by Michaela Pavlickova's 21 points and 11 rebounds.

UNLV led 47-35 with 11:05 left in the game when Denver made a run to cut the Lady Rebels' lead to four points at 55-51 with 4:15 remaining. Denver would get no closer as UNLV held on for the nine-point win.

UNLV used a 13-2 run over 7:26 in the first half to take a 26-18 lead with 7:15 left. UNLV was then held scoreless over 6:31 and went into halftime with a 29-24 lead.

The Lady Rebels will now travel to Reno, Nev., to face UNR on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7:00 p.m. PST. The game may be heard live on KENO 1460 AM in Las Vegas and by logging onto the internet at www.unlvrebels.com.
