LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Despite losing at both the top singles and doubles spot, the UNLV women's tennis team defeated Wichita State 6-3 as part of Senior Day at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.
The win, which was UNLV's fourth straight, improved the Lady Rebels to 7-8 overall.
The Shockers' Lisa Field took three wild sets to defeat Gee Gee Garvin at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 5-7, 7-5. However, winning for the Lady Rebels were Susie Kocsis, Veronica Goude, Lisa Annebro, Britta Gabl and Marie Linusson. Seniors Annebro and Linusson were playing their final regular-season home matches.
Marcella Valkenhoff teamed with Jelena Kocergin to win at No. 3 doubles for UNLV's final point.
The Lady Rebels are off until taking on Brigham Young April 10 in Provo, Utah.
