LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Adam Scott was named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Scott, who competed as an individual in last week's Morris Williams Intercollegiate, turned in the highest finish of his career finishing in a tie for fourth with a three round 216 (74-71-71).
It marked the first time the Hope Island, Australia, native has finished in the top 35 in six tournaments this season. Scott's 216 finish was only three shots back of the individual champion.
Scott has a scoring average of 75.18 in 17 rounds this year.
The Rebel golf team will be back in action on April 2-4 as it competes in the U.S. Collegiate Golf Championship at Black Diamond Ranch just outside of Orlando, Fla.
