EAST LANSING, Mich. - The UNLV women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie against Michigan State Friday.
The Spartans held the Rebels to just five shots in the double overtime match while firing 13 of their own. UNLV goalkeeper Shannon Wilson (Las Vegas, NV/Bishop Gorman) logged an excellent match in the goal, however, saving seven shots and recording her seventh career shutout.
The match was the Rebels' second straight to go to double overtime, their last resulting in a 3-2 victory over San Francisco last Friday with just :02 left.
Last year, the Rebels earned the first home victory in the history of the program over Michigan State, the alma mater of head coach Staci Hendershott.
UNLV remains unbeaten on the year with a 2-0-1 record and will complete their Michigan road trip Sunday in a 10:00 a.m. PDT match at Western Michigan.
