PROVO, Utah - The UNLV women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision at BYU on Saturday evening. The Rebels fall to 9-6 on the season and 2-2 in the Mountain West Conference.
The Cougars (12-3-1, 4-0) opened the scoring with the game winner at the 15:09 by Aleisha Cramer to give BYU a 1-0 lead. Just under 30 seconds later, the Cougars found the net once again on a Kim Lowe goal at the 15:42 mark. The Cougars added one more goal in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
Just three minutes into the second half the Cougars scored again, increasing the advantage to four goals. UNLV's keeper, senior Shannon Wilson, saved a season-high 13 balls in the loss. This was a homecomming for Rebel assistant coach Maren Hendershot who was a two-time NSCAA All-American and the 1999 MWC Player of the Year for the Cougars last season.
The Rebels will return home to face New Mexico on Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 at Johann Field.
