LAS VEGAS - Four UNLV players, including three on offense, were named first team All-Mountain West Conference by the Football News, the publication announced Tuesday.
Senior tailback Jeremi Rudolph, who will look for his fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing day this Saturday, was one of two running backs named to the squad. Senior wide receiver Nate Turner, who has earned exactly half of the team's 100 receptions this fall, was one of three receivers named (no tight end made the squad). Senior offensive tackle John Greer, a four-year starter who has graded out highest among all Rebel blockers through 10 games, was one of five offensive linemen tabbed.
Defensively, junior Rebel cornerback Kevin Thomas, who leads the league in passes defended with 15, made the first team for the second consecutive season. Last season, Thomas was the only UNLV player to make the Football News team, which is annually selected by the publication's editorial staff.
The MWC Player of the Year was Air Force quarterback Mike Thiessen.
