Fr?hlich Leads Lady Rebels Past Pacific

LAS VEGAS - Linda Fr?hlich scored a season-best 37 points on 16-of-17 shooting from the field to top all scorers and lead UNLV to an 86-64 victory over Pacific at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday night.

Fr?hlich didn't miss a shot from the floor in the first 28 minutes of the game, hitting on 14 straight attempts, including two three-pointers. She finished the night shooting 94.1 percent, besting the school record of 90.9 percent (10-of-11) held by both Misty Thomas and Cherie Hogg.

Fr?hlich, who played just 30 minutes on the night, was just three points shy of her career best of 40 and seven points short of the school's single-game record of 44 held by Teresa Willis. She also was just two field goals short of the school mark of 18.

Three other Rebels scored in double figures: senior co-captain Brooke Ingalls, who had 12, and Kinesha Davis and Constance Jinks, who both added 11. Point guard Dayna Gambill had nine points to go with a career-high 10 assists. They led an all-around solid team effort as UNLV (7-2) posted season bests for points in a game (86), shooting percentage (35-57, .614) and three-point shooting percentage (5-5, 1.000).

Pacific (6-5) was led on the evening by guard Selena Ho, who scored 23, including a 3-for-7 night from three-point range. The Tigers, however, were forced into 26 turnovers.

UNLV returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 28 when they host instate rival Nevada, Reno at 5:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the Runnin' Rebel basketball team.
