UNLV Rolls Over Prairie View A&M

LAS VEGAS - Excellent defense and solid foul shooting paved the way to victory for the UNLV women's basketball team as it topped Prairie View A&M 81-44 on Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Lady Rebels (9-2) held the Panthers (3-7) to just 16 field goals and 35-percent shooting from the floor. UNLV also capitalized on 29 Panther fouls, connecting on 30 of 40 free throw attempts in the win.

Linda Fr?hlich led the Rebels in the scoring column, scoring 21 points and missing just two shots from the field. Petra Gl?ser chipped in with 17 points, including nine from the line, and pulled down eight rebounds.

Prairie View A&M's Pressy Elogado scored 11 points with three three-pointers before fouling out.

UNLV gets a week of rest before continuing its seven-game home stand with its final non-conference game of the year. The Rebels host UC Irvine at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6 as part of a doubleheader with the UNLV men's basketball team.
