LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Rebel softball team fell to No.11 Cal State-Fullerton 3-1 and 14-0 Wednesday at the Rebel Softball Diamond. UNLV is now 13-19 on the year and will begin league play Friday at home against BYU. The Titans improve to 30-7 for the season.
In game one, Charelle Ainslie supplied the Rebels only run by driving in Nicole Miller with a RBI base hit. Ainslie left the game in the fifth inning after spraining her shoulder sliding into third base. Her return is still pending.
The Titan batters dominated the second game by tallying 14 runs on 15 hits. Yasmin Mossadeghi launched a grand slam homerun in the third inning that put Fullerton up 12-0. Cal State scored two more runs before the NCAA eight-run mercy rule was implemented.
