LAS VEGAS (AP) - Linda Frohlich scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead UNLV over New Mexico 52-50 Wednesday in a Mountain West Conference tournament game that wasn't decided until referees reviewed a foul call after the final buzzer.
The referees determined that the call against UNLV was made just after the buzzer. New Mexico coach Don Flanagan said he took issue with the call denying his team a last chance to tie the score and force an overtime, but added: "If we had played up to our potential we wouldn't have had to worry about the decision."
The first-round tournament game was tied at 50 when Constance Jinks drove to the hoop to put the Rebels (17-11, 9-6 Mountain West) ahead with six seconds left. Jinks finished with 12 points for the 5th-seeded Rebels.
Miranda Sanchez scored 14 points to lead the 4th-seeded Lobos (18-10, 9-6).
